Have you jumped into Creative Loafing’s new “Bucket List” of 100 dishes you need to eat? Good GRIEF! They have assembled a mighty great assortment of food. This week’s foray into Atlanta dining was super fun and tasty. Let’s start with breakfast. My friend Kathy met me at Highland Bakery to try the Peanut Butter French Toast; trust me, you do NOT want to attempt this dish by yourself. HUGE slabs of bread with peanut butter in the middle, fried and topped with maple syrup and bananas is about as delicious a breakfast as you can wish for. Between the two of us, we didn’t even finish half. YUM.

The next couple of items were at no246 in Decatur. I know I’m late to the party on this restaurant (so many of you have been telling me to visit, but Decatur feels wildly inconvenient!), but boy am I impressed. We had a great meal overall. My favorite NON-list items were the toasts, especially the Navy Bean one.

For the list item, the recommendation was the meatball. Although Billy and I both enjoyed this dish, it tastes about the way I’d expect an authentic Italian meatball to taste. Delicious, yes. List worthy? Debatable.

However, the second list item is under pasta and is the Angolotti.  This is a stuffed pasta with lemon ricotta served in a brown butter sauce. I will drive to Decatur ANY time to taste these flavors again. So, So, SO good.

Can’t wait to see where we can go this week!! How about you? What have you tried?
