What is work all about anyway?

Don't you just crave smooth work weeks?

Quick insights.Supportive colleagues.Cooperative customers.

Isn't "easy" what we all hope for?

But what if the smooth path isn't the best?  What if our growth is dependent on what we try to avoid? What if breakthrough is only found when you go through the difficulties rather than around them?

Obstacles.Conflict. Setbacks.

What would happen if we treated challenges as something to be embraced? Wouldn't the "bad" weeks more often become good?

I'm a Wendell Barry fan and love his words here...

The real work

It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work,

and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey.

The mind that is not baffled is not employed.

The impeded stream is the one that sings.

- Wendell Barry

Please take this in the nicest possible way, but I wish for you (and me) a work week involving a baffled mind and an unclear journey ahead.
