The List: Nam Phuong

If you're new to Buford Highway eating adventures in general OR a little shy about eating at a Vienamese place (what to order??!!!), I'm happy to report the Creative Loafing Best Dish List will not lead you astray!  I've previously reviewed the awesome Bahn Mi at Quoc Huong and the Banh Xeo at Lee's Bakery, and the happy awesomeness continues at Nam Phuong. Creative Loafing rates this as the best Vietnamese spot in the city and if the Pho is any indication of the rest of the menu, they are right.

Pho is a traditional Vietnamese soup made with beef stock.  If you are a picky or unadventurous eater, this is a great "gateway" dish.  The most basic Pho is broth with noodles and green onions.  You can add a meat of choice and then add toppings according to your taste.

I love the Thai Basil and sprouts.  Mmmmm.

This time I ordered the seafood version and while the dish doesn't visually scream "UNREAL!!" that's exactly what it is.

Absolutely amazing flavor.

This was my first visit to Nam Phuong, but you can bet I'll be back.

Have any of you been there?  What dishes have you LOVED??!!
