Stop wasting your time

"People are frugal in guarding their personal property;but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy."Seneca

I never think of being "stingy" as a good thing, but maybe Seneca has a point.

Maybe I should treat every minute as sacred; as a gift entrusted to me to be used wisely.

Not to squander. Not to endure. Not to ignore.

But a minute to be invested intentionally.

To connect. To engage in conversations. To encourage others.

But doesn't this mean opening up the floodgates to all takers?  Not at all.

Intentional living means battling time suckers. It means relentlessly pruning what is dead, ill, or simply takes up too much of days.

You know who those people are don't you? You recognize the pointless activities, right?

Oh sure, we all have our ridiculous diversions (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Blogs - anyone?!), but even more time is spent on worries, fears, and arguments.

Disengage from circular conversations. Stop fighting to be understood. Consider your opinions less often. Forget about pleasing everyone.

Today is a remarkable opportunity for each one of us. Let's use it well.
