10 reasons you don't buy a puppy...and one reason you do.

There are a couple of new members in our extended family. The first is a 10 week old lab named Jack and he's adorable.Don't you just want to smoosh his face?? There's also a 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Baily who is also scrumptious, but bigger and slightly further down the destruction path. Of course, our "puppy," Mack, is now four years old and his energy level is just about equaling his ability to reason. Still, the memories from this post feel relevant again! For my In-Laws and the rest of you dog lovers, this repost is for you!

I completely understand why some people opt out of the puppy phase and decide to get more mature dogs. There are at least ten easy arguments for why you should skip the puppy years and, instead, adopt a two-(three?)year-old dog. We've never rolled that way though.
