Dining Out: Tom Tom

Tom Catheral is back in business at TomTom! If you frequent the Virginia-Highlands area in Atlanta, chances are you have dined in the space where the Noche restaurant served Mexican food. The restaurant closed last October (along with every other restaurant in the Here To Serve group) and its replacement is even better!

We started with the Avocado toast bruschetta (you know how I love me some avocado toast). The bread was perfect and the heaping pile of avocado and oh-so-crisp radish topping was scrumptious! My girlfriend had recommended the whole roasted cauliflower with garlic and Parmesan. Just WOW! This may be one of those deceitful dishes that LOOKS like it would be easy to prepare at home, but I don't know... I'll have to give it a try and let you know.

In the meantime, if you only take one thing from this review, it's to order this side!We couldn't resist the fish specials.  Billy had the bbq salmon with white cheddar grits. I only like fancy grits and these passed the test. The salmon was delicious... I opted for the halibut special (I'm a sucker for halibut) with assorted legumes.

The fish was at a perfect temperature, crisp outside and tender and flaky inside. Halibut is a perfect gateway fish is you're not a big fish lover because of its mild flavor. I loved the pairing with the peas/beans lightly tossed in a citrus and olive oil dressing. Just perfect. We also grabbed a side of Mexican Street Corn. Reminded me of Porch Light Latin Kitchen, though this specific dish could benefit with a little more effort on the presentation. We were too full for dessert (whaaaaat?), so you'll need to explore those options on your own!

I'm sure it will be more than worth your effort!
